Say Story is a children's storybook app that helps families turn a spoken or typed idea into a short illustrated storybook.

Information We Collect

Say Story does not require an account for the first release.

When a parent enables AI pictures, the app sends the typed or spoken story idea to Say Story's backend so a short storybook and page images can be generated. The story idea may include whatever the user types or says. Families should not include a child's full name, address, school, phone number, email address, birthday, or other private information.

The app asks for microphone and speech recognition permission so a story idea can be dictated into the app. Speech recognition text is used to fill the story idea field.

How We Use Information

We use story ideas only to generate the requested storybook pages and illustrations.

We do not use story ideas for advertising, tracking, analytics, or sale to third parties.

AI Processing

When AI generation is enabled by a parent, story ideas are processed by Say Story's backend and an AI service provider to generate story text and illustrations. Say Story checks story ideas for obvious private details and unsafe content before generation.

Storage

For the first iOS release, AI story requests from the app are sent without saving the storybook to the backend library. Generated storybooks may remain on the device while the app is open.

Future versions may add optional saved libraries with updated privacy disclosures.

Children

Say Story is designed for families and children. AI generation is locked behind a parent permission screen. Parents and guardians should supervise use of AI generation and avoid entering personal information about a child.

Sharing

Say Story does not include public posting, social feeds, or user-to-user messaging in the first release.

Ads And Tracking

Say Story does not include third-party ads, tracking, or analytics in the first release.

Your Choices

Parents can turn off AI pictures in the app. When AI pictures are off, storybooks are created on the device with built-in drawings.

To request deletion of backend data or ask privacy questions, contact us through the Say Story contact page.

Changes

We may update this policy as Say Story changes. The effective date will be updated when the policy changes.
